Our submission to the Burlingame Vault to the Future time capsule! Consisting of a hand-made collage, a letter signed by all of our members, and our 2025 World Championship medal, our submission will be uncovered in 2076—50 years in the future! The collage showcases our team’s structure, members, and accomplishments, while the letter expresses our hopes for the future of our team. 50 years is a long time, but until then we won’t be idle. Until 2076 and beyond, we hope to continue our hard work, both in advancing our technical abilities and strengthening our community through outreach. Last month, the spring semester of our free STEM after-school program, Cub Central, came to a close! For their final class, students were challenged to design their own paddleboat, learning about concepts such as buoyancy and potential/kinetic energy along the way. Other activities throughout the semester included creating a prosthetic hand and making a paper model of the solar system. These lessons allowed them to apply things they had learned in the classroom to real-life scenarios and engaging activities. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to compete at the inaugural Northern California District Championship, where we debuted our newly rebuilt robot, Troubleshooter. Although we experienced some difficult robot issues in qualification matches, our pit crew was able to work them out by alliance selection. In the playoff bracket, we had a blast playing on Alliance 6 with @palyrobotics and @team841. Additionally, our members learned so much from talking to the amazing teams at this event, and were able to make many new friends as well. In the end, we are proud to have collected enough district points to qualify for the FIRST World Championship in late April! It was amazing to see such a high level of play on the field from amazing NorCal teams—congratulations to the winning alliance @team254, @frc1323, and @6238popcornpenguins! Without the support from Iron Panthers families and sponsors, we would not have been able to reach the level we are at today. Yesterday at NorCal DCMP, we continued digging deeper into qualification matches, ending the day ranked 24th! We were also proud to give two Girl Scout troops a tour of the event, showing them around the pits and watching matches with them.
